ABS-CBN Interactive and Star Cinema join forces as they break new grounds for the very first online streaming of a local film. And I Love You So Worldwide Online Premiere will run for a week starting August 28, Friday, until September 4, 2009.

In its efforts to share the story of Lara (played by Bea Alonzo) with more Filipinos globally, anyone from anywhere across the globe can now watch the full movie by simply logging on to http://starcinema.com.ph. More details about the first-ever online screening can also be found on the website as well as affiliate sites abs-cbn.com, tfcnow.com and teamkapamilya multiply sites.

Star Cinema, the country’s premiere film production company, has been known in the industry for its landmark movies that have touched the lives of millions of audience here and abroad.

With its latest offering — "And I Love You So", ABS-CBN’s film production arm sets more hearts afire with the stirring story of a young widow going through the emotional process of moving on.

The lead character, Lara Cruz, portrayed by Alonzo has been touted by critics as the young actress’ best performance yet.

Also starring Derek Ramsay, Sam Milby Ms. Coney Reyes and under the direction of Laurenti Dyogi.

SM Cinema Management Issues Statement About "And I Love You So"

SM Cinemas issued a short statement behind the reason for not showing of Star Cinema's "And I Love You So" from any of their cinemas. (Click HERE to read related story.)

Here is the statement of SM Cinema Management through its Senior Vice President, Mr. Edgar Tejerero:

"It is unfortunate that we are unable to show And I Love You So in our cinemas today. We remain committed to the continued growth of the Philippine Film Industry by providing our customers with wholesome family entertainment in our movie theaters."

"And I Love You So" opened yesterday, August 12, in about 100 theaters nationwide, but not in SM Cinemas.

According to source, "And I Love You So" reportedly grossed Php3.4 million on its first day nationwide.

Meanwhile, Bea's last movie with John Lloyd Cruz, One More Chance (2007), grossed Php5 million on its first day in SM Cinemas alone. But this is probably because Bea was paired with John Lloyd.

According to a report by YES! Magazine, SM Cinemas sell 45% of all movie tickets sold in the country.

"And I Love You So" Graded B by Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB)

Star Cinema’s latest offering "And I Love You So" received a B grade from the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB).

For getting the second highest grade for quality filmmaking, the film outfit will get a 65% amusement tax rebate from the government.

This is a good thing for Star Cinema knowing that they needed the tax rebate specially now that the movie is not showing at all SM Cinemas which account for 45% of all movie tickets sold in the whole Philippines.

Star Cinema's "And I Love You So" Banned on All SM Cinemas?

Star Cinema's latest offering "And I Love You So" starring Bea Alonzo, Derek Ramsay and Sam Milby had a very successful premiere night at the Trinoma Mall Cinema in Quezon City last night, August 11, 2009.

In the past, SM Megamall Cinemas (particularly Cinema 10) was the venue for all Star Cinema movie premiere nights. The cinema can accommodate a large number of viewers, aside from its location accessibility. But why Trinoma Cinema this time?

SM Megamall Cinema 10 was supposedly the venue for the movie's premiere night as announced by Star Cinema through its multiply site but the site's content says otherwise (see Google search result below). There must be something wrong going on here. Don't you think so?

My intuition was confirmed by last night's SNN report. According to the show's hosts Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino, the Star Cinema movie "And I Love You So" will be in theaters starting tomorrow, August 12, in more than 100 theaters nationwide except SM Cinemas.

Watch the report below:

Can anyone from Star Cinema explain the reason behind this? If this continues, it will be a great loss for both parties, as Star Cinema movies guaranteed to be a hit while SM Cinemas prove to mount a large number of viewing public. Wasn't it that SM Cinema's top-grossing film of 2008 is a Star Cinema produced film "A Very Special Love"?

Mmmmm.....
